Job Summary
Parkview Health, in Fort Wayne, IN, and Riverview Health will be collaborating to foster growth, increase access, and create a center of excellence for Orthopedics in the Indianapolis Market. Parkview is Northeast Indiana’s largest employer and a leader in the orthopedics space. This is an exciting partnership for both organizations.
This Director role will be responsible for:
- Leading the Orthopedic, Foot & Ankle, and Interventional Pain Clinics
- Enhancing Operating Room efficiency in coordination with the Perioperative Leadership Team
- Developing the strategy for future Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)
While this role is posted on Riverview Health’s career site, the role will directly report to Parkview’s VP Orthopedic Service Line. This person will be an employee of Parkview Health; however, the role will be located at Riverview Health in Indianapolis, with a strong connection to the Riverview Health Orthopedic Leadership. The person will be asked to visit Parkview occasionally to connect with their leader and the orthopedic team at Parkview. The interview process will include both Riverview Health and Parkview Health’s orthopedic leadership teams. Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the areas of patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, customer service, clinical competency, quality of care and patient safety, resource management and financial performance through the identified key outcomes.
- Accountable for the management of purchased services.
- Develop strategic, operational, and financial plans for assigned areas to ensure cost-effective care.
- Participate with Parkview Health and Riverview Health leadership, governing bodies, medical staff and clinical leaders in organizational decision making and strategic planning. Develop specific goals and objectives for areas of accountability in all areas of Parkview’s Measures of Success (Safety & Quality, Service Excellence, Growth, and Resource Management) and Riverview’s Pillars of Success (People, Service, Growth, Quality, and Finance) and establish timetables for achievement of goals
- Continually evaluate competitive services, utilization of services and facilities, physician preferences and community needs. Identify expense reduction targets through the timely application of appropriate care measures. Effectively build and manage assigned budgets, both operating and capital, in a manner consistent in achieving overall operational goals. Adhere to budget/expense reduction targets; collaborate with members of the leadership team to effectively utilize staff in response to volume/acuity variances; use supplies/equipment costs effectively and enhance revenue.
- Provide oversight and direction to ensure ongoing alignment of service to complement needs for the community.
- Directly supervise assigned staff to include hiring, training/education, performance appraisals and corrective action. Administer fair and equitable personnel policies, resolve conflict positively/constructively create a positive value-drive environment and encourage/respects/values contributions of all individuals.
- Develop nursing services goals and objectives and establish and implement policies and procedures for department operations.
- Work with the marketing team to create and execute strategies that align with business and clinical objectives.
- Implement an effective, ongoing program to measure, assess, and improve the quality of direct, diagnostic and therapeutic care delivered to patients. Consult with clinical staff development personnel in planning and coordination of education relevant to clinical practice. Provide leadership in the development of processes and standards that ensure patients receive the safest and highest quality care and that care delivery protocols are based on evidence/information that provide the highest probability for the best clinical outcomes.
- Achieve departmental patient experience target scores by actively engaging staff in understanding the goals and operating standards to uphold these standards as well as Parkview’s and RVH’s Standards of Behavior. Actively engage providers through listening, interaction, and providing written communication to develop strong relationships, accountability for outcomes and identification of opportunities for improvement. =
Education Requirements
- Minimum: Bachelor Degree from an accredited school of nursing (CCNE, ACEN, or CNEA.
- Preferred: Master's degree from an accredite nursing program
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: Five (5) years of management experience in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Preferred: Ambulatory surgery care management and/or acute care
License / Certification Requirements
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Indiana State Board of Nursing
