Mental Health Worker’s at Riverview Psychiatric Center, provide guidance and mentorship supporting the treatment and rehabilitation of patients challenged with mental illness. They listen to patients' concerns, observe their behavior, monitor their location, record their condition, report changes to medical staff, escort patients within facility, lead patients in therapeutic and recreational activities, provide treatments to patients, participate in or accompany patients to group therapies and treatment meetings, help with patient intake and discharge and daily living activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: HS diploma or equivalent, at least 18 years old. At least Six (6) months experience providing direct Adult Mental Health Care to individuals is required due to the nature of Per diem coverage.
Requirements: One (1) shift every thirty (30) days. Candidates who can commit to one (1) shift per week will be given higher consideration. Candidates must be able to attend our three (3) day Per-diem orientation typically scheduled for the second full week of each month Monday – Wednesday, 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
TRAINING: We offer up to 24 hours of training for our Mental Health Worker per diem positions. We want you to become a successful partner in our mission to provide excellence in care.
· Learn de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution through our Behavior Response Options training
· Trauma informed care education will provide you with the skills to think critically, problem-solve, and use group-work
· Ongoing support

The Riverview Psychiatric Center, in collaboration with the community, is a center for best practice, treatment, education and research, for individuals with serious, persistent mental illness, and co-occurring substance use disorders. We have a burgeoning collaboration with national and international experts in psychiatry, support a growing and wide variety of teaching and training programs, and have a collegial, supportive medical staff and hospital administration.
