We are a small nonprofit arts organization dedicated to creating a vibrant hub where art inspires connection, sparks conversation, and enriches lives. We seek a Program Manager who can develop initiatives that advance our mission and strategic plan.
Position Overview
The Program Manager will develop and implement programs and events that support our organization's goals while generating sustainable revenue. This role focuses primarily on program execution, event ownership, and exhibition oversight, with a strong emphasis on cultivating meaningful relationships within the artist community.
The ideal candidate will build and nurture connections with local and regional artists, serving as a trusted liaison between our organization and the artistic community.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Management
- Implement and coordinate programs aligned with our mission
- Build strategic partnerships with local schools, universities, and organizations
- Develop and oversee a robust workshop program, including instructor recruitment and relationship management
- Cultivate meaningful relationships within the artist community
- Represent the organization at community events, leading hands-on activities when appropriate
- Engage volunteers and interns to support program execution
- Manage artist studios and membership programs to maximize community engagement and revenue potential
- Support facility rental opportunities in collaboration with administrative staff
Exhibition Coordination
- Serve as liaison with exhibiting artists, guest curators, jurors, and other exhibition stakeholders
- Oversee the implementation and execution of the exhibition calendar, coordinating various resources including staff, volunteers, and contractors
- Lead exhibition-related events including opening nights and First Fridays, overseeing logistics and event details
Administration & Reporting
- Track program metrics and create comprehensive reports for leadership, grants, and donors
- Build and maintain database of artists, educators, and community partners
- Collect and organize program and event details to support marketing efforts
- Ensure clear communication of program information to all stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in arts administration, fine arts, art history, or related field
- 3-5 years professional experience, or demonstrated engagement in the visual arts field
- 3-5 years experience working with artists and creative professionals
- Demonstrated experience in program coordination and arts management
- Experience with exhibition coordination
Skills & Abilities
- Strong project management and relationship-building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs
- Proficiency with Office Suite and Google Suite
Job Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
- Availability to work some evening and weekend hours for events and programs
- This position requires specific knowledge of contemporary visual arts

Hours & Benefits
- Full-time in-person position, primarily Monday-Friday with some evening and weekend hours for programs and events

- Salary range: $40,024.00 - $44,092.00
