What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Technologist position at Riverwood Healthcare Center?
About the Position:
Join our surgical team as a Surgical Technologist, where you will assist in the preparation and execution of surgeries, ensure a sterile environment, and support both surgeons and nurses in delivering optimal patient care.
- Prepare the Operating Room: Set up and maintain sterile fields, arrange instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist Surgeons: Pass instruments, manage suction and cautery, and assist as needed during procedures.
- Patient Preparation: Position and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Sterilization and Safety: Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean environment.
- Documentation: Accurately document procedures and instrument counts.
- Collaboration: Work with surgeons, nurses, and other professionals to ensure effective communication.
What we are looking for:
- Education: Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- Certification: Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- Experience: Previous surgical setting experience is a plus. 2 years of surgical scrub experience coupled with related clinical training (LPN or Military)
- Skills: Knowledge of surgical procedures, attention to detail, and organizational skills
