ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Production Scheduling to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in overseeing the production scheduling operations, with a specific focus on plant launching. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge and expertise in automotive manufacturing processes, production scheduling methodologies, and plant launching strategies. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the production scheduling team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive production scheduling strategies, considering factors such as capacity, demand, and resources to optimize production efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and production, to ensure alignment and effective coordination of schedules and activities.
- Analyze production data, key performance indicators (KPIs), and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate actions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Drive the plant launching process, including the development and execution of detailed launch schedules, resource allocation, and coordination with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of production schedules, ensuring accurate and timely updates to reflect changes in demand, capacity, and resources.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to incorporate product design changes and new model introductions into the production schedules.
- Monitor production performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address issues to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to production scheduling and plant launching and incorporate them into the organization's processes and strategies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, implementing lean manufacturing principles and promoting a proactive and innovative mindset within the production scheduling team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in production scheduling, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Proven experience in successfully managing and leading production scheduling teams.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, including familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong understanding of production scheduling methodologies, such as Just-in-Time (JIT), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) systems.
- Demonstrated experience in leading plant launching activities, including the development and execution of launch schedules.
- Proficient in using scheduling and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software systems, SAP preferable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and implement process improvements.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
