Role Summary
Utilizing Rivian processes based on industry standards from market leaders in automotive quality, the Service Part Quality Engineer will work directly with the Logistics/Parts teams, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and Engineering in the incoming receiving and shipping areas with a focus on part quality, procedures, and material control requirements. Supports problem solving, corrective actioning, supplier coordination activities, containment plans, and rework requirements in the part distribution center.
Communicates to our supplier quality engineering teams the relevant information to support the problem-solving process to ensure quality, packaging and delivery requirements are met. Raise complaint reports and request corrective actions from supplier contacts. Continued engagement with suppliers until adequate actions are taken to prevent future occurrences. This is an individual contributor role, and the position is located at Rivian part distribution centers.

Responsibilities
- Responds to the supplier quality issues by implementing containment actions and starting the initial problem-solving process.
- Follows up and holds suppliers accountable for completing root cause and preventative actions for containments.
- Acts as onsite liaison for part quality issues, supplier visits, rework requirements.
- Notifies supplier location of non-conforming materials.
- Works with process partners to provide fast response and corrective actions
- Works with PDC teams to ensure proper communication of issues and works with them in problem solving.
- Attend various meetings and communicate the status of supplier issues
- Be knowledgeable about the supply and demand of needed products for the PDC and advise material planning of high quantity of quality impact
- Ensure key metrics are met and report on achievement of targets as related to the PDC and service part quality requirements
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering or other relevant experience preferred
- 1-3 years of quality related experience or relevant logistics / manufacturing quality
- Experience
- Background in identifying technical and hardware quality issues and providing engineering insight on requirements and potential corrective actions
- Audit and understanding of supplier proposed containments with ability to question proposals.
- Knowledge of automotive quality processes and problem-solving methods
- Strong self-starter and works well being proactive
- Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic team environment
- Ability to drive and program manage outside entities to support what's best for Rivian and its customers
- Planning and prioritizing activities
