Ready to Serve (RTS) Maintenance Manager
The major services provided to the internal customers are inspection, modification, & repair of food processing equipment, buildings & grounds, and handling support equipment to maintain production operations. This is a managerial position that reports to the Site Maintenance Manager. The major internal customers that this position services are the RTS Production Department, QA, Sanitation, R&D, Office Administration, and Distribution & Logistics.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the maintenance team to achieve world class status through continuous improvement projects, loss reduction, and budget attainment
- Mentor and coach maintenance leadership to drive daily results on the floor
- Manage outside contractors and be on call for emergencies
- Consistently model safe behaviors
- Manage to and meet deadlines and develop & track plans on how to accomplish maintenance activities
- Mentor all department associates by motivating and providing direction to help them achieve their developmental goals and make consistent effort to go above and beyond
- Work with Site Maintenance Manager & Finance team to develop, set and track budgets
- Assist management team with capital spending plans, facilitate cross- functional project planning and verify project completion
- Manages work orders in the system, ensure proper creation, planning, update and closure of work order
- Measure and publish facility KPI metrics to the management team, interpret data, present findings and recommend corrective actions
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs
- Responsible for daily management of assets, work planning, and spare part inventor
- Manage spare parts inventory, assist management with work plans and auditing as required
- Assists with Site Maintenance Manager’s duties when manager is on leave/vacation
- Identifies and leads efforts to resolve chronic problems
- Owns and leads failure analysis efforts in the department
- Maintains budgeted staffing numbers in the department
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline, operations, or related field
Experience:
- 5 years’ experience in a maintenance environment, preferably food manufacturing environment
- Expertise in low acid canned food processes and robotic handling systems
- Previous supervisor or manager experience in a team-oriented work environment
Key Attributes:
- Ability to plan and lead projects and rebuilds
- Previous data analysis experience in the facilities maintenance program, specifically in asset management and spare part optimization
- Experienced in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) specifically SAP
- Knowledgeable in Food Safety requirements and procedures
- Knowledgeable of OSHA and EPA regulations
- Knowledge of related maintenance principles, including but not limited to:
- • Retorts, Robots, Conveyors, Packaging machines
- • Industrial Electric Power
- • PLC Controls
- • Building Construction & Design
- • Familiarity with public utility services & contract
- • Metallurgy
- • PID tuning
- • Instrument calibrations
- • Steam generation and management
