Duties And Responsibilities
- A critical role in our Applied Exercise Science undergraduate program, developing and teaching core courses/labs in such as Introduction to Applied Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Dynamics of Human Movement, and Strength Training and Conditioning.
- Assume teaching, advisement, and mentoring responsibilities for undergraduate students. Includes advising students that are pursuing graduate programs in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Training.
- Participate in ongoing program growth and development, particularly with student internship and practicum experiences within the community.
- Participate in recruitment, retention, and enrollment opportunities to attract and retain a diverse group of undergraduate students.
- Provide service to the programs and the University.
- Develop/maintain an active research agenda that promotes student involvement.
- An earned master's degree or doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology or a closely related field from an accredited institution, with a minimum of two years of academic or clinical practice.
- Ability to deliver a wide variety of undergraduate applied exercise science coursework and evidence of successful university teaching in exercise science, kinesiology, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated scholarship, including applied research, in the areas of exercise science.
