The Division of Nursing and Health Professions at Rivier University invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in Applied Exercise Science position. This will be an in-person, non-tenure track, renewable, appointment in the Division of Nursing and Health Professions. The position will include responsibilities in the undergraduate program in Applied Exercise Science. Principle responsibilities include teaching, scholarly productivity, advising undergraduate students, and working collaboratively with faculty and administration in strategic growth and development of the Applied Exercise Science program. Duties And Responsibilities

• A critical role in our Applied Exercise Science undergraduate program, developing and teaching core courses/labs in such as Introduction to Applied Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Dynamics of Human Movement, and Strength Training and Conditioning.
• Assume teaching, advisement, and mentoring responsibilities for undergraduate students. Includes advising students that are pursuing graduate programs in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Training.
• Participate in ongoing program growth and development, particularly with student internship and practicum experiences within the community.
• Participate in recruitment, retention, and enrollment opportunities to attract and retain a diverse group of undergraduate students.
• Provide service to the programs and the University.
• Develop/maintain an active research agenda that promotes student involvement.
  
  

Qualifications

• An earned master's degree or doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology or a closely related field from an accredited institution, with a minimum of two years of academic or clinical practice.
• Ability to deliver a wide variety of undergraduate applied exercise science coursework and evidence of successful university teaching in exercise science, kinesiology, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated scholarship, including applied research, in the areas of exercise science.
