Overview

This team member will be responsible for leading the strategic commercial objectives of the business and play a critical role in enabling Everglades Boats to achieve its growth and financial performance targets. This position is responsible for developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies while inspiring, leading, and motivating the Sales and Marketing teams towards achieving business objectives. Based on input and feedback from dealers and customers, the Vice President of Sales and Marketing will provide continuous visibility and critical insight to the executive leadership team.


Essential Functions

  • Lead a team of business development directors to utilize information to manage and motivate a network of dealers to increase Everglades’ mindshare within their dealerships with the goals of increasing sales and increasing Everglades’ brand reputation
  • Partner with dealers to understand the critical success factors of their businesses and aid them in growing sales and strengthening customer ownership experiences
  • Achieve all current commercial operational objectives and metrics while developing the optimal commercial platform to meet Everglades’ strategic growth agenda
  • Use industry knowledge and market information to support dealers in the development of sales, marketing and customer service strategies
  • Identify white space distribution opportunities and develop plans to sign new distribution locations in these areas
  • Understand competitive trends within the marine industry to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
  • Lead the development of Everglades sales and marketing programs to support dealers in the achievement of their purchase milestones and obligations
  • Ensure Everglades’ presence in professional/industry organizations and trade shows as well as in strategic activities with key accounts
  • Develop high-potential team members, build commercial bench strength and position Everglades Boats for sustainable success in the premium saltwater fishing boat market.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Operations, Customer Service and Product Development
  • Simultaneously manage multiple complex projects and relationships
  • Develop marketing strategies that drive traffic to dealers’ showrooms and optimize lead management practices
  • Regularly visit dealers to maintain a deep understanding of each dealer’s business and to closely manage relationships
  • Attend key, critical boat shows to support dealer relationships and maintain a pulse for industry and competitive trends

Qualifications & Key Competencies

  • Possess the broad business acumen, strategic planning capabilities and commercial orientation required to act, lead and think like an executive operational leader
  • Demonstrate a history of both strategic and tactical commercial leadership while delivering profitable growth opportunities
  • Exhibit highly effective commercial leadership skills and a proven ability to drive Sales, Marketing and Customer Service teams toward achieving targeted business results
  • Demonstrate natural leadership abilities and be a fast-paced collaborative team player who can lead both directly and through influence while adapting quickly to situations with high levels of ambiguity
  • Be an engaging leader and change agent with a strong track record of teaching and transforming a culture of continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate a strong blend of strategic and tactical approaches to commercial and business objectives
  • Possess an unrelenting level of energy and sense of urgency to accomplish goals
  • Demonstrate an ability to create a compelling vision, develop long-term strategic plans, make judgments based on independent thinking and manage ambiguity in complex situations
  • A willingness and ability to travel up to 25-30% of the time (domestic and international)
  • Experience using web-based sales systems, and high proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and time management skills

Preferred Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline
  • Minimum 10-15 years of OEM level sales experience with a minimum of 10 years progressive industry experience

  • Ability to work in various environments including office settings, manufacturing areas, outdoor event spaces, and in/around boats. PPE required if moving about manufacturing production areas.
