RJ Kielty is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HVAC Pre-Construction Estimator Trainee to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in the HVAC industry. As a trainee, you will assist in estimating HVAC systems for both commercial and residential projects, while gaining hands-on experience and learning the ins and outs of the HVAC pre-construction and estimation process. You will work under the guidance of senior estimators and project managers to develop your skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparing HVAC system estimates based on project specifications and plans.
- Learn to interpret project drawings and collaborate with design teams to understand HVAC system requirements.
- Help gather pricing information for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Get hands-on experience using estimating software to generate cost proposals.
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and availability.
- Participate in project meetings and site visits to better understand HVAC installations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of estimates, proposals, and related documents.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong math skills, with the ability to calculate material quantities, labor costs, and system specifications.
- Strong interest in learning about HVAC systems and the estimation process.
- Basic understanding of construction and HVAC terminology is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and eagerness to learn new skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with estimating software is a plus.
Compensation:
- $16 - $18 per hour, based on experience.
