Yard Laborer

RJ Recycling, LLC, a division of The ProTrade Group LLC, a full-service metal scrap yard located in Parkersburg, WV, is seeking a Yard Laborer. The Yard Laborer is responsible for sorting, grading, processing, and preparing scrap metal for sale and shipment. This position will also utilize equipment and tools (such as forklift, pallet mover, torch, and other cutting equipment.)

Role and Responsibilities:

• Receives materials and may assist customers with the unloading of material in a safe and timely manner
• Sorts, grades, processes, and prepares scrap metal for sales and shipment
• Utilizes equipment and tools to process and/or size material to consistently provide a quality product per company specifications
• Safely loads trucks and containers for transport
• Welcome customers to the shop and answer their questions
• Demonstrates a daily commitment to be present and work all hours assigned as needed to complete work orders
• Willingly performs and completes any work assigned in an efficient, safe, and productive manner
• Cooperates with fellow employees, customers, suppliers, and others with honesty, integrity, and a respectful manner
• Willingly complies with all regulatory requirements, including federal, state, local, and company policies and procedures
• Effectively communicates with management and co-workers
• Other duties as assigned by your manager

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• 3-5 Years in the scrap metal or relatable experience
• Class B license preferred but not required
• Ability to lift, move and carry heavy objects up to 80 pounds
• Attention to detail
• Experience with ferrous and non-ferrous materials
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment
• Ability to follow directions and willingness to learn new tasks
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
