Overview:
\Our client is searching for a versatile and energetic purchasing and supply chain manager with strong SAP and purchasing skills for their cosmetic manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing and maintaining the companies SAP B1 MRP/CRM system, including entering and tracking lead times, work orders, re-order levels, prices, and other key data.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing product component purchases, including researching and implementing new vendors to meet new component requirements, cost savings objectives, supplier redundancy, and fulfillment rapidity. This will involve developing long-term relationships with suppliers to ensure that all components meet quality, cost, quantity, and delivery deadline objectives.

A key responsibility will be to monitor and maintain an adequate flow of components and production services while minimizing inventory requirements. The candidate will recommend and adjust material purchasing processes to support finished goods production and ensure material availability by establishing reliable and proper lead times with suppliers.

The successful candidate will develop strategies for dual sourcing, buffering, forward buying, and other strategies to minimize purchasing uncertainties. They will establish optimal quantity to purchase, lead times, and impact on P&L Analysis, ensuring SAP BOMs are accurate and updated.

This role requires excellent negotiation skills to assist in negotiating contracts that include costs, warranties, delivery, handling, and penalties for late delivery or cost overruns. The candidate will manage the purchasing cycle, including generating requisitions, PO creation, PO follow-up, goods receipt, and final payment.

The Purchasing Manager will create and distribute Sales and Purchasing Management Reports. Ideally, the candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as a Purchasing Manager for a consumer goods manufacturing organization (cosmetic industry a plus) and possess strong SAP and Excel experience.
