Description
This excting new Market Development Manager role is responsible for developing relationships with potential clients across all markets. This role involves building and nurturing new client relationships, maintaining and enhancing existing ones, and identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with strategic planning. This position works very closely with the Marketing Manager and Market Sector Leaders and oversees the business development team.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Relationship Management: Establish and oversee a pro-active relationship-based account management plan with new and existing contacts.
- New Business Development: Assist in determining new market opportunities (both product and geographic) that align well with the service capabilities and technical experience of RJM.
- Research industry competition and market trends to help position RJM to successfully pursue work opportunities in new and emerging markets.
- Conduct research and identify new business leads. Develop a strategy to actively pursue and document leads.
- Coordinate prequalification efforts with targeted customers to determine viable pursuits.
- Attend conferences, industry events, and meetings as well as participate in relevant industry organizations, panels, and boards.
- Develop a business development strategy plan that supports the company’s overall strategic plan.
- Collaborate with internal Marketing and Market Sector Leaders to develop relevant collateral when meeting with potential clients and communications related to internal market related topics.
- Research trends and create new opportunities to increase sales.
- Participate in the strategy and development of client facing proposals and interview strategies.
- Manage the business development team and manage a department budget.
- Maintain a strong understanding of RJM’s services.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field. Proven experience may be substituted for degree.
Work Experience:
- 8 years sales, sales management and/or business development experience with a focus on client relationship management. Exposure to the in the A/E/C industry required and RJM specific markets preferred.
Demonstrated Technical Competencies to include:
- MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- CRM software experience – Cosential preferred
Demonstrated Professional Competencies to include:
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Skilled in effectively managing numerous business relationships concurrently.
Compensation:
The annual base pay range is $125,000 - $190,000. The base rate may vary within anticipated range based on factors such as the location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. Certain positions may be eligible for additional compensation that may include travel pay and/or a bonus or incentive program. Deferred compensation may be provided to eligible positions.
