Summary:
This position is responsible for the performance of multiple activities including but not limited to: meeting daily customer shipping expectations, delivering against customer contract metrics, Responsible for supervising a team made up of typically exempt associates and hourly employees; including providing training, monitoring work quality, coaching employees on performance and contributing to employee pay decision/changes. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers by determining work procedures, preparing work schedules, and expediting workflow by properly utilizing employees and their hours.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work with the site manager to define requirements for operations and ensure that the implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed these requirements as well as customer expectations
- Focus on LEAN techniques, quality management processes, and cost control methodologies within the operations to achieve company goals & profit levels; continued business growth; and long-term relationships with customers.
- Assigns duties and monitors work completion for accuracy
- Assess and analyze current practices and drive improvements.
- Manages performance continually; develops associates by providing training and coaching.
- Maintains a safe work environment and fosters a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required
- Ensures daily distribution and light manufacturing activities are executed and accountable for performance shortfalls – develop corrective action plans when performance falls below the target
- Supervises and develops staff and otherwise carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Responsible for exceeding customer metrics (cost, quality, and responsiveness)
- Lead start-up activities with cross-functional teams
- Daily interaction with internal and external customers is required
- Personnel scheduling to support all shifts and accounts, plan and organize staff workload
- Maintain documentation of processes that are followed by the department
- Train associates so an up-to-date understanding of processes, policies, and procedures is maintained.
- Schedule and manage workers in operations or plant to ensure efficiency. He or she determines the labor hours needed and the number of certain items to be received, stocked, picked, inventoried, cleaned, and/or shipped.
- Ensures that all processes run smoothly and that workers are kept safe at all times.
- Provide directors, managers, peers, and subordinates with information about quality, safety, delivery, cost, and morale.
- Work with strict demands and budgets, so that they can set production schedules.
- Monitor activity and make sure that daily quotas are met by keeping workers on task and informed of procedural changes. If production falls behind for any reason, a supervisor can determine the best ways to get back on schedule.
- Design detailed product quality checklists and monitor items as they are constructed. Every item is scrutinized before it can be packaged and shipped. A supervisor might perform personal inspections to ensure that orders are compliant, and associates are following strict SW process steps.
- Monitor metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess productivity and cost management.
- Partner and Coordinates with management, peers, subordinates, and other internal departments to resolve issues and concerns.
- Lead by example of positive reinforcement and make RK Logistics a World Class company.
- Maintains good partnerships with customers by responding to their needs and requirements. Provide company focal point for customer visits.
Abilities:
- Experience with process improvement methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Understanding of RF scanners and standardized processes
- Knowledge of picking, receiving, and shipping processes, hands-on experience preferred

Qualifications needed:·
Experience: This Position requires 5-10 years of managerial experience (Education may substitute for years of experience) providing overall direction, implementation, and continuous improvement of logistics solutions in all phases of warehousing and distribution.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration or industrial management/engineering.
- Intermediate math & writing skills
- Advanced computer skills such as MRP are a plus
- 3-5 yrs. of experience in the logistics field or any other related industry
- Knowledge of handheld RF equipment a plus
- Forklift certification a plus: sit-down & stand-up
Salary : $95,000 - $105,000
