Position and Responsibilities Overview
Responsible for managing cross-functional teams delivering defined project outputs on time, within budget, and meeting quality criteria. The Project Manager plans, organizes, monitors, and oversees one or more projects to meet project objectives. This individual works closely with the Executive Sponsor, Business Analysts, and PMO to guide efforts toward achieving intended business results.
- Work, communicate effectively, and negotiate with senior management in their roles as project sponsor
- Foster relationships, work, negotiate, and communicate effectively with various company resources within and external to the IT department, including boots-on-the-ground construction personnel, corporate staff, business analysts, software developers, and others
- Foster relationships with, work, and appropriately manage vendor resources external to the company
- Collaboratively define and document project requirements and deliverables
- Express project vision across audiences and shepherd that vision throughout the course of the project
- Relay necessary updates, log actions, and provide project artifacts in a timely manner and in the appropriate places, as dictated by PMO processes
- Create, maintain, and report project plans / schedules of varying degrees of complexity and detail, while collaborating with stakeholders
- Create, maintain, and report project budgets
- Identify and address project roadblocks, risks, and issues
- Identify when roadblocks, risks, and issues must be escalated and act to escalate them
- Identify scope change / creep and address appropriately
- Analyze all factors of project performance against baselines, while taking necessary corrective actions to address shortfalls and leverage opportunities
- Empower and motivate project team while arbitrating conflicts and resolving problems
- Collaboratively plan and execute project / solution controls and monitoring processes prior to delivery
- Collaboratively plan project closure criteria and ensure criteria are met, ensuring sign-off / approval provided at time of closure
- Other duties as assigned
