Position and Responsibilities :
- Safely handle and transport pipe materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment, ensuring proper securing to prevent rolling or shifting.
- Inspect and assess pipe loads for balance, stability, and securement before transport, minimizing the risk of accidents due to unbalanced or rolling loads.
- Follow strict safety protocols for handling round materials, including the use of chocks, straps, and load stabilizers to prevent movement during transport.
- Perform regular equipment checks on forklifts, slings, and rigging gear to ensure all tools are in proper working order and compliant with safety regulations.
- Inspect and maintain storage yards and warehouses for cleanliness, organization, and safety, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Issue materials by field requisition, locate and distribute materials as directed by the craft foreman and direct supervisor.
- Ensure documentation is complete and accurate, reviewing other employees' paperwork for errors before submission.
- Identify and verify materials being received or shipped, ensuring they match purchase orders and shipping requirements.
- Maintain accurate records for all inventory transactions, including inbound and outbound shipments.
- Move pipe materials to and from storage or worksites using hand trucks, forklifts, or other power devices, ensuring proper handling of round loads.
- Locate and prepare materials for outbound shipment, coordinating with supervisors to ensure readiness.
- Load and unload pipe materials within warehouses or storage facilities while adhering to all safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate and perform shipment loading while completing all required paperwork.
- Deliver materials to job sites as needed, requiring an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for driving company vehicles.
- Aid in directing crew members in daily tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Train new hires on all aspects of the job, including safety procedures and best practices.
- Act as a stand-in for the supervisor in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations.
