Maintenance Technician

Summary:
Performing preventive and repair maintenance, electrical, electronic and mechanical work. Fabricate fixtures using welding, cutting and brazing. Identify and add new and efficient preventive maintenance tasks for all plant equipment and facilities. Electrical & Hydraulics skills are required.
Job Duties:
- Maintaining and repairing plant equipment, including pneumatic and mechanical systems, clutches, brakes, power transmission components, combustion engines, and electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Perform basic electrical work and fabricates fixtures with limited to no instruction.
- Responsible for recording labor and materials used on each repair and provides some guidance, instruction and training.
- Test, inspect, repair, troubleshoot and re-assemble basic plant equipment, components, and systems including but not limited to overhead bridge cranes, hoists, gear boxes, forklifts, straddle trucks, shag trucks, company vehicles, pneumatic and mechanical systems, power transmission components, combustion engines, boiler systems, and electrical and hydraulic systems
- Fabricate fixtures using welding, cutting, brazing, and surface hardening applications
- Communicate with supervisor and other maintenance and production team members
- Responsible for working with small hand tools including tape measures, micrometers, saws, drills, riveters, and nail guns and maintaining tools and equipment
- Operate gauging equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and dial calipers
- Responsible for reading basic blueprints
Requirements:
- Knowledgeable with plant equipment
- Knowledgeable with basic testing, troubleshooting, disassembly, inspecting, precise measuring, repair and re-assembly of all plant equipment and components with limited instruction
- 1-3 years of relevant experience with plant equipment
- AS Degree preferred
- Ability to spend 75% of workday standing or walking, 10% bending or kneeling, 10% stooping, and 5% climbing. Climb and work from ladders, aerial platforms , bridge cranes, and roofs in excess of 80 feet
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $34.00 per hour
