ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Dispatcher you play a crucial role in managing all incoming and outgoing freight for RL Liquidators. This position ensures that the supply chain operates efficiently and effectively. The Dispatcher will be responsible for training and collaborating closely with Drivers to ensure safe transportation and delivery of freight. Additionally, the Dispatcher will handle the submission, filing, and organization of all paperwork to document the freight that has been sent and the locations where it was received.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Day-to-Day responsibilities:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for all incoming and outgoing freight, answering phone calls and responding to phone or email inquiries regarding freight.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for arranging shipping from contracted retailers and troubleshooting any issues as they arise.
- Communicate with District Managers or Warehouse Managers on any inbound or outbound freight they are to receive or must send out.
- Maintain and update the reconciliation spreadsheet with photos, uploading all pallets received.
- Create drivers’ schedules and input them into the appropriate tracking system.
- Assist in managing and/or approval of timekeeping records for drivers.
- Create BOLs for the drivers as well as input, scan, and file BOLs after they are received.
- Assist in the scheduling of routine maintenance of the tractors, trailers, and box trucks and coordinating with appropriate leadership on issues as they arise
- Ensuring routes and loads are efficient and cost-effective
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Perform DOT licensing checks and schedule DOT drug testing for drivers as needed
- Ensure that drivers take breaks and fill out timesheets and logs according to state and federal requirements.
- Maintaining registration plates of the tractors, trailers, and box trucks
- Ensuring all equipment in the trucks is installed and updated
- Managing the insurance policies for all drivers
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Proficiency in typing and data entry
- Ability to manage freight and fleet operations effectively and prioritize work according to deadlines
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
Minimum Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Prior experience in Dispatching preferred, or experience preferably in a logistics/transportation related environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft office, Excel, Outlook, or related software to maintain record databases and track deliveries.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. General days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm (hours may vary based on business needs). Occasional evening and weekend (Saturday) work may be required as job duties demand.
Occasional Travel Required: Estimated 5%-10%

Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
