Position Summary
This position is responsible for supporting engineers in the client's business unit(s) by performing electro-mechanical hardware and software development and testing in a lab environment.
Responsibilities
- Setup telemetry and data acquisition systems, collect telemetry data and test results from ongoing projects
- Install and configure new systems and equipment
- Attend project meetings and provide feedback as required
- Set up computers with new operating systems and software configurations
- Configure networks for new user systems
- Perform system updates to ensure all systems are current
- Troubleshoot and resolve system failures and bugs
- Get and execute assigned tasks from engineers
Define test plans to capture requested data
Run test scripts and collect test reportsModify / blue wire circuit boards to run unique testsRun hardware tests on circuit boards and draft test reportSupport lab environment operationsHelp calibrate test equipment
Help troubleshoot faulty lab equipmentHelp revise lab SOPs and reports templates as requestedHelp troubleshoot design under test (DUT)Run A : B testing to determine potentially defective DUT
Use benchtop test equipment and hand tools to find root causeDraft reports on observations and findingsOccasionally work 40 hours in a week to meet certain team milestonesPerform other duties as neededEducation and Credential Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent;Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related is preferredEligible to work in the US without RLA sponsorship for employment visa statusExperience Requirements
3-5 years of experience in a lab technician roleMinimum 3 years of experience with networkingMinimum 3 years of experience with serversMinimum 3 years of experience with lab hand toolsExperience maintaining / troubleshooting servers, network switches, and peripheral devicesExperience with control systems and / or data acquisition systemsExperience using benchtop test equipment such as oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, function generator, logic / network analyzer, thermal camera, etc.Experience testing high speed circuits on PCBs considering signal integrityExperience using circuit schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Cadence Allegro, Altium, etc.Experience using 3D modeling CAD such as AutoCAD, etc.Experience developing, modifying, and running test scripts via PowerShell, Python, etc.Experience using hand tools (soldering iron) to hack / blue wire breadboard circuits and components on PCBsExperience following lab SOPs and using templates for reports / presentationsSkills Requirements
Ability to read, write, and speak English proficientlyHigh proficiency using productivity software such as M365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, and SharePoint)Ability to use project / program management principles and methodologies to consistently meet task deadlines, triage changing priorities, and track issues to resolutionAbility to collaborate across diverse teams with a customer service mindsetWork Environment
