Brake Shields and Jounce Hose Engineer

RLE International has an opportunity for a Brake Shields and Jounce Hose Engineer located in Southfield, Michigan. As a Brakes Actuation Engineer, you will help develop braking components and technologies in production vehicles.

Role:

Design and develop Brake Shields and Jounce Hose Engineer from concept to series production. This may also include brake boosters, master cylinders, pedal boxes, fluid reservoirs, calipers, rotors, modulators, hoses, pipes, harnesses and brackets.

Establish requirements for components based on desired system attributes

Work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate components in the most efficient way possible

Design with excellence, with great attention to every detail

Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs

Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment

Contribute to technology roadmaps for future vehicles

Qualifications:

2 years of automotive industry experience, focus on braking system design

Personally designed brake components from concept to production

Proven 3D CAD skills

Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly

Experience in technology, system, and supplier selection

Design release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experience

Ability to Travel domestically and internationally

Advantageous:

Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6

Project leadership skills

Knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles?

Knowledge of NVH principles

Ability to run CAE analysis tools

Driven-vehicle attributes development experience

Experience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theory

Education:

BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering or similar
