Payroll/Accounting Specialist
Job Overview:

Our innovative and dynamic company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll/Accounting Specialist to join our team.
In this role, you will oversee payroll processes, ensure accurate employee compensation, maintain compliance with relevant regulations, manage accounts payable, reconcile bank accounts, and support month-end reporting. This position will also handle payroll and HR functions for our sister company, Carr Textile.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Accurately process payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain and update employee records within the HRIS system.
- Work closely with management to oversee and administer employee benefits and deductions.
- Utilize payroll software to process payroll transactions, including commissions, bonuses, and travel reimbursements.
- Handle data entry for new hires, terminations, payroll changes, and adjustments.
- Prepare payroll-related reports and assist with audits as needed.
- Stay current on governmental accounting regulations impacting payroll.
Accounts Payable:
- Review and match invoices with purchase orders, verifying goods or services received.
- Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices.
- Process vendor payments, including vouchers, checks, ACHs, and wire transfers.
- Audit and reconcile freight bills for small package shipments and LTL freight.
Accounting/Bookkeeping:
- Perform general accounting tasks such as preparing account reconciliations and recording journal entries.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain cash availability reports.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to generate financial statements.
- Support financial analysis and reporting initiatives.
- Participate in cross-training and assist with additional accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Payroll/Accounting Specialist or similar role within a corporate accounting environment.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., Paycor) and familiarity with manufacturing pay incentives is a plus.
- Strong understanding of payroll processing and accounts payable/receivable concepts.
- Advanced data entry skills with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MS Dynamics AX) and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
Compensation:
Pay is commensurate with experience and skillset.
