Job Summary
RMA LI IVF is currently seeking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner for our Melville Location. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for working with the REI teams to manage IVF and RE cycles.
Primary duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Performing Ultrasound Monitoring Patients in treatment cycles for IVF and IUI
- Perform Sperm Wash and Intrauterine Inseminations (IUI)
- Demonstrate Effective Communication Skills
- Teach:
- Provide explanation of treatment options to patients; support injection training
- Provide explanation of the planned treatment cycle to patient,
- Counsel:
- Provide therapeutic emotional support during treatment cycle;
- Provide patient with pregnancy tests results, and cycle management
- Advise and encourage patient upon completion of cycle.

- Case Management/Cycle Coordination:
- Conducts New Patient Consults and Initiates Plan of Care
- Schedules Diagnostic Testing
- Designs and Updates Patient Plan of Care at the direction of the Physician
- Complete Patient Checklist by treatment start date
- Documents in patient record (RESOURCE) and departmental records
- Maintains safe and clean working environment
- Maintain adherence to infection-control policies and protocols as established by OSHA guidelines and regulations regarding : sterilization of instruments, medication storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
- Manages patient concerns and anxieties with empathy and confidence
- Clinical Skills:
- Perform physical exams as needed and phone patient assessments
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections
- Interpret lab results; Obtain vital signs when appropriate
- Obtain informed consents
- Medication management

Qualifications
- RN. BSN required MSN - PA Credentials required as outlined for NYS.
- State RN license without limitations required.
- Minimum 1-year nursing experience in women’s health care in a physicians practice required. IVF experience preferred.
- High level communication skills; ability to work independently with professional judgement
- Knowledge of office procedure and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.)
- Must be able to work weekends and some holidays; on-call
