Job Summary:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for administering and supporting the company's global data communications network. This position involves designing, developing, installing, proactively monitoring, optimizing, maintaining, and supporting network hardware, software, policies, procedures, and associated systems across the company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop executable network designs based on requirements set by Network Architects.
- Document all network designs and deployments to ensure supportability by the Network Engineering team.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for network engineering, including Azure on-ramp/express route, Azure subscription networking, LAN (Campus/Plant/Wireless), WAN/SD-WAN, and Datacenter LAN.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues in Cloud, WAN, LAN, Voice, Video, Internet connections, and end-user systems.
- Communicate network maintenance schedules, status, and downtime to users and management.
- Ensure the continuity and disaster recovery plans are maintainable and respond to network outages accordingly.
- Analyze network needs and contribute to design, architecture, integration, and installation efforts.
- Lead projects, collaborating with Network Architects or project leads for guidance.
- Maintain detailed documentation on network standards, configurations, and cabling layouts.
- Collaborate with internal IT Security and external vendors to integrate security hardening and compliance in network designs.
- Mentor team members and promote continuous improvement.
- Monitor network performance, capacity issues, and system efficiency.
- Perform system audits and recommend network design improvements based on reviews, monitoring data, and company needs.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Certifications: Cisco CCNP (or equivalent advanced routing/switching experience).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in OSPF, EIGRP, Spanning Tree, and BGP routing protocols.
- In-depth knowledge of Cloud networking (Azure, AWS), Routing and Switching, Firewalls, Proxy Technology, Wireless, Data Center, Video/Voice, and SD-WAN.
- Cisco ACI design, configuration, and operations experience.
- Strong understanding of network security and the ability to implement security architectures for corporate networks.
- Experience with network topology and documentation tools like Visio.
- Knowledge of network QoS methods and mitigation strategies.
- Network troubleshooting expertise, using tools like Network Sniffers.
- Strong ability to analyze network performance and recommend improvements.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred):
- Certifications: Cisco CCIE.
- Experience: Cisco Central Platform Management.
Salary : $98,000 - $135,000
