Full Job Description
We are looking for a reliable Staff Accountant to assist in the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions while following all regulatory and accounting guidelines. An effective Staff Accountant has good knowledge of accounting principles. You must be organized professionals with a great eye for detail. You must be reliable and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively. The goal is to contribute to keeping the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and control. You will report to a CFO.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day accounts receivable tasks.
- Create invoices according to company practices; submit invoices to customers
- Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable
- Perform day-to-day accounts payable tasks.
- Complete payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
- Pay vendors by verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation
- Maintain and update customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
- Process and record employee credit card expenses
- Assist with weekly payroll processing as needed
- Perform other related duties as
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience within the Construction Industry is a plus
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes
- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software (e.g. Foundation)
- Well-organized with ability to prioritize
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
