Job Details
Description
Reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
Keeps parts organized and loading stations supplied with parts to ensure minimum downtime.
Separates products according to weight, grade, size, or composition of materials used to produce them.
Weighs parts on scales, writes tickets and attaches identifying tags or labels to containers.
Records units handled, moved and daily production sheets.
Packs and stores materials and products.
Loads and unloads items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
Carries needed tools and supplies from storage or trucks and returns them after use.
Maintains equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
Conducts safety inspections of material handling equipment and performs basic preventive maintenance needs; logs mileage and keeps equipment fueled.
Conducts general area and workstation housekeeping for maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Stores inventory and materials in neat and labeled areas consistent with 5S principles.
Supports and participates in high performing teams.
Participates in safety activities such as support for Suggestion Boards, Grass Root team projects, 5S projects, department ergonomic improvements.
Works safely, follows safety rules and regulations, and assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
- Certified as a fork truck driver (within two weeks of hire) and maintain certification required.in
