RMH Systems, one of the largest material handling, packaging, and industrial scale distributors in the Midwest, is currently seeking a motivated Sales Representative to grow sales in our Minnesota Packaging Division.
The main responsibility of this role is to promote and sell integrated Packaging equipment systems, services, and supplies for our customer base in your defined territory. The goal is to grow our packaging market share. We sell sophisticated packaging equipment and packaging products to manufacturers, food companies, and agriculture companies. This role requires strong communication skills, sales ability, and some technical understanding. Training will be provided. This role would go after new packaging business in the territory and assist with current customers.
This individual will work closely with our inside sales team to grow our market share. Customer service is a priority. Each person on our sales team is responsible for operating their own “business within a business”. This is a sales role that requires someone to have an entrepreneurial spirit as our sales representatives have complete control over their territories from quoting, pricing, project management, installation management, negotiation, etc.
This position will report to either the Eden Prairie or New Brighton location. There will be a lot of travel within the territory to visit customers during the week. Overnight travel is less than 10%.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Increase sales within the territory through cold calling and customer visits.
- Further develop established customer accounts; expand sales within given accounts.
- Customer service – answering phone calls, making aftermarket service phone calls, etc.
- Promote and sell integrated packaging equipment systems and value-added services per customer specifications.
- Strive to meet or exceed individualized sales, gross market, and margin goals determined annually in conjunction with the management team.
- Actively engage in sales calls on existing customers to maintain sales, and cold call prospective customers at a frequency to keep sales on target with Company goals.
- Develop high potential prospects to generate long term sales.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and comprehensive knowledge of potential sales in territory.
- Collaborate with Marketing and other sales support resources to provide customer proposals and quotes.
- Work with other sales representatives to expand product knowledge and collaborate on integrated system solutions to generate new opportunities.
- Investigate and resolve all customer claims promptly and participate in the resolution with all applicable parties.
- Maintain customer files and add new leads in the CRM.
- Participate in sales training and development programs to enhance sales competency.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred.
- Mechanically inclined or engineering background is a plus.
- Outside sales personality & entrepreneurial mindset is a must.
- Minimum of 3 years of Business to Business sales experience required.
- Driven, organized, and strong communication skills required.
- Basic computer knowledge required, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to travel in your territory as needed. Overnight travel is less than 10% typically.
