Who we are looking for:
We're seeking an enthusiastic "go-getter" to become a vital part of our team as a Graphic Designer 1. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience, with a strong focus on packaging design, and be highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite. Duties and Responsibilities:
Designer 1's main responsibility is to develop brand statements via innovative package designs, overseeing the entire process from concept to completion, while also mentoring and training junior designers. Your responsibilities include:
- Packaging Design: Develop and create innovative packaging designs that align with the brand’s visual identity and messaging across various product lines, while efficiently updating artwork based on client feedback and requests.
- Adobe Creative Suite Expertise: Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other relevant software) to design and refine graphics, illustrations, and layouts for packaging.
- Concept Development: Generate and present creative concepts for packaging that resonate with target audiences, effectively highlighting product features and benefits.
- Artwork Creation and Production: Develop production-ready artwork, including die lines, mock-ups, and print-ready files, ensuring all designs meet technical and printing specifications for production. Effectively manage both short and long lead-time projects to meet deadlines.
- Quality Assurance: Perform thorough quality checks and proofreading of artwork to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines in all packaging designs.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the Creative Director, Studio Manager, Design Leads and Sales, to understand project requirements and ensure design goals are met.
- Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to Junior Designers, offering support in design techniques, best practices, and workflow processes.
- Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor packaging designs, and emerging techniques to maintain innovation and a competitive edge.
- Presentations: Compile and prepare packaging designs, concepts, presentation materials, and endcap renders for stakeholder presentations, ensuring clarity, visual appeal, and alignment with project objectives.
In this role, your creativity, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to varying project timelines are essential for delivering exceptional package designs that resonate with our target audiences.
Experience and Skills Required:
- BFA in Graphic Design or related field.
- 5 years of experience in graphic design, with a focus on packaging.
- Portfolio showcasing strong, diverse design skills and previous packaging projects.
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, with a focus on Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Knowledge of print production processes and techniques is a plus.
- Ability to multitask multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
