Job Description

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is searching for an Assistant Rentals Manager to join its team at its Savage, MN, location. The Assistant Rentals Manager is a critical position for the overall growth of the rentals business at RMS. This position will be the first stop for all day-to-day activities / questions / problems. In this role, you will be making decisions that will require you to be in constant communication with the Rentals Manager. The Rentals Manager will provide direction and / or decisions based on overall business needs and collaboration with RMS leadership. The Rentals Process Manager, while not directly managing, you will be influencing employees’ growth by communicating with the Rentals Manager. You will be the eyes and ears for the Rental Manager. For success in this position, you must know the everyday business ins and outs, to keep our business process streamlined but agile enough to accommodate for continual growth.

Responsibilities :

Manage, Facilitate, and supervise the activities of the yard personnel.

Manage and supervise the daily activities of the rental coordinators.

Identify, Implement, and enforce inspection process and procedures; continually seek improvement within RMS yards.

Manage process of rentals from initial inquiry to closing out the rental contracts.

Manage and work with Service and Sales departments to ensure wear and damage are billed out properly and timely.

Make recommendations on rental rates, equipment, and attachment inventory.

Manage Inventory process and reconciliation

Manage nightly billing cycle

Working in multiple computer programs; Filebound, CDK, CRM & IR

Explains rental fees and provides information about rented items, such as operation or description.

Resolve customer problems and disputes related to rental equipment when Rental Manager is unavailable.

Building customer and vendor relationships

Employee relations – Recruit, train and supervise staff.

Making essential planning and strategy decisions that may include developing and reviewing existing policies and procedures.

Prepares sales and rental forms and contracts, obtains customer signature, certificate of Insurance and other information as required.

Report safety violations to Rentals Manager and maintain a safe & healthy work environment.

Qualifications / Skills :

Associate Degree in Business Management preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in the use of communications technologies.

Demonstrated ability to initiate, expedite, follow through to completion.

Able to work responsibly, safely, and intelligently.

Have the desire to take action, improve, and be appreciative.

Possess the capability to engage with customers, co-workers, and vendors in a respectful manner.
