On-Call Truck/Trailer Technician

Seeking Experienced Mechanics

We are seeking on-call mechanics to assist with our high volume of night and weekend service calls. These calls include emergency and on-site calls for medium and heavy trucks, trailers, and some equipment.

What we need from you:

• Willingness to work varied shifts and hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness to be on-call 24/7 (with scheduled days off)
• Must have your own tools
• Must be a seasoned and experienced mechanic, minimum of 5 years experience and able to work independently

Skills Required:

• Diagnose and repair minor and major issues on all systems of truck/trailer.
• Computer diagnostics with heavy focus on aftertreatment issues
• Welding and torching/fabrication work

Mindset/Attitude Required:

A positive attitude and willingness to work as a team with coworkers is a mandatory requirement to be considered for employment with Road Warrior!

I can’t stress this enough. We service our customer’s trucks in their parking lots and on the side of the road. Roads and parking lots are outside. We work outside year-round and need technicians with a lumberjack mindset. If you can’t handle working outside this is not the job for you.

Trucks are on the road around the clock, 24/7 365 days a year. We jump and run anytime, anywhere for our customers. We refuse to be any less than the best shop they can find. I expect perfection from my crew, but I will settle for excellence. This means working long hours when needed, getting up early in the morning or in the middle of the night and doing your part to keep this portion of our business thriving.

Who We Are:

Road Warrior is an aggressively growing company specializing in on-site mechanical services. We are seeking experienced and self-motivated mechanics to join both our Muncie and Indianapolis teams. We specialize in mobile and shop maintenance and repairs, and we have been in business for 18 years. We work on a wide variety of heavy truck, trailer, and medium duty fleets.

We pride ourselves on allowing our employees to self-govern to the greatest extent possible. We promote an atmosphere of positivity, teamwork, and individual creative contribution. Our managers assume the roles of coaches and assistants to help our mechanics succeed.

Other Duties:

• Read manufacturer's drawings and manuals
• Basic computer and internet literacy
• Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools
• Front counter work with customers, including payment collection
• Keep shop equipment operating (maintain, troubleshoot, repair, etc.)
• Drive manual transmission vehicles
• Use computer diagnostic equipment
