Yard Laborer

RoadBlock Solutions, located in Butler, PA, is looking for a Yard Laborer!

Summary: The Yard Laborer will be responsible for the coordination of yard materials and managing inventory. The Yard Laborer maintains knowledge of DOT standards and inventory items. The Yard Laborer manages deliveries and driving schedule, independently (will be required to drive CDL equipment).

Responsibilities of the Yard Laborer, including but not limited to:

• Loading and unloading trucks and equipment.
• Maintain current inventory levels.
• Maintain lists of equipment leaving and entering the shop and yard.
• Ensure load lists are accurately pulled and marked with job numbers.
• Ensure return lists are accurately counted and returned to shelves with all proper documentation.
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of the inventory/order management.
• Manage inventory control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed, and resolved.
• Ensure all certifications are kept up to date (DOT Medical Card, Driver’s License – CDL, and any others).
• Ensure tasks are completed to company standards in a timely manner.
• On call for all emergencies that pertain to inventory control thru receiving phone calls on company phone during weekends and holidays (if necessary).
• Supervise the general upkeep, appearance, organization, and vegetation control of the entire grounds.
• Work with Accounting/Finance to support and assist with Yearly and Quarterly Audits (including evenings and weekends, when needed).
• Responsible for safety
• Make a deliberate effort to gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the Company’s Safety Policies and Procedures, ensuring to always adhere to them.
• Ensure the appropriate safety equipment/PPE is always worn.
• Ensure that all requests to perform unsafe work practices that may result in damage to machinery, people or property are declined.
• Ensure equipment is safe to use.
• Support and Training
• Be prepared to assist other Company Personnel as required/requested.
• Participate in any other relevant/appropriate training programs as requested by the company.
• Maintain/Manage Hours of Service and proper time keeping of all jobs.

Skills of the Yard Laborer:

• Industry knowledge of Barrier types and other lines of business.
• Ability to read load lists and carry out tasks independently.
• Knowledge of diggers, augers, excavators, front loaders, trucks, cranes, etc. as applicable.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations for CDL Driving (hours of service, vehicle/equipment specifications, etc.).
• Responds promptly to customer need; respond to requests for service and assistance from internal and external customers; meet commitments.
• Ability to speak clearly in positive and negative situations; respond well to questions and participate in meetings when needed.
• Basic language and mathematical skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.

Qualifications of the Yard Laborer:

• Minimum of 2 years in Laborer position.
• CDL Class A
• 2 years of driving experience, preferred.
• Ability to manage schedules and work independently on tasks.
• Ability to travel/stay out of town overnight, if needed.
