The Service Manager is responsible for cultivating, managing, and growing all aspects of the service department while ensuring a safe environment. You will provide exceptional customer service, maintain profitability and quality workmanship goals through management of the service team. The Service Manager will uphold the company image while growing relationships with internal/external customers and employees alike.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Mentor, develop, and coach the shop supervisors on how to perform their role to the best of their abilities
- Assist shop supervisors in hiring, mentoring, developing, and coaching their service technicians
- Maintain profitability through efficient management, quality repair, and work order processing
- Ensure the shop, shop equipment, and equipment yard maintain a clean organized appearance
- Develop and maintain working relationships with manufacturers and customers
- Manage operating expenses such as shop supplies, tooling repair, and tooling inventory
- Perform quality checks on completed jobs to ensure the work meets quality standards
- Evaluate work in process for accuracy and efficiency
- Review all denied or cut warranty claims
- Review and approve work orders that have rework, write-offs, or discounts applied.
- Maintain communication with customers throughout the work process and work through customer questions or disputes on invoices
- Review and approve customer quotes
- Enforce all safety rules and practices and ensure all tools and equipment in safe operating condition
- Process and approve invoices for service department
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
Skills and/or Qualifications
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Must be able to communicate and understand English
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Sound business acumen with ability to analyze, prioritize, identify, and execute solutions
- Excellent people management and leadership skills; ability to build relationships with internal and external partners
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Shop environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt and noise
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Proficient with computers; ability to utilize all required systems and software
- Experience with dealer business systems from CDK/PFW preferred
- Experience with Komatsu and/or Takeuchi Equipment preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a heavy equipment/construction equipment service department working as a shop foreman in a progressive leadership/mentorship capacity
- Dealership or rental service management experience preferred
