Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing projects from contract award through final payment, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders. This role requires proactive project management, coordination, and problem-solving to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution:
- Prepare and submit required product submittals and certificates of compliance for all project materials.
- Create sign manufacturing orders and ensure alignment with project specifications.
- Attend and actively participate in pre-construction and progress meetings.
- Oversee project scope, identify necessary changes, and submit change order requests.
- Mark installation locations and coordinate Line-Spots for post-installation.
- Schedule material deliveries and ensure timely procurement of project components.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to monitor project progress and quality.
- Resolve installation challenges, assess site conditions, and take field measurements as needed.
- Monitor project expenses and compare them against estimated costs.
- Track quantities and reconcile them with customer expectations.
- Oversee payments, secure final payment, and facilitate the release of retained funds.
- Assist with monthly accounts receivable and collections.
- Complete and submit all required project closeout documentation.
- Work with the Expeditor to schedule equipment and coordinate tasks with the Contracting Division Manager.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ensure all projects adhere to safety, quality, and compliance standards.

Education & Experience:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience in heavy/highway construction, preferably in signage and infrastructure projects.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
- Experience with Vista/ViewPoint Accounting Software or comparable project management systems.
- Preferred: Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent).
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel as needed.
Physical & Visual Activities
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, carrying, talking, and hearing.
- Long periods of sitting with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Driving up to 300 miles at times for site visits and meetings.
