Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of shop operations in the tow yard, including vehicle maintenance, repairs, and scheduling.
2. Utilize fleet management software or systems to track vehicle information and performance, ensuring optimal efficiency and safety.
3. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards governing fleet operations.
4. Communicate effectively with drivers to address any issues or concerns.
5. Perform automotive diagnostics and coordinate repairs as needed.
6. Inventory and shop management, including ordering parts and supplies.
7. Schedule routine maintenance and prioritize repairs to minimize downtime.
8. Oversee hazmat management processes and ensure proper handling and disposal procedures are followed.
9. Check the work done by the mechanics.
10. Recommends, initiates, and evaluates innovative ways to improve fleet maintenance and maintenance team concepts.
11. Schedule and manage work productivity based on workshop objectives.
12. Track all maintenance completed for all vehicles daily.
13. Oversee and manage repair costs.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Minimum 3 years of previous experience in a heavy truck workshop is required (Towing)
- Diesel engine repair: 2 years (Required)
- Mechanical knowledge: 3 years (Required)
4. Diesel mechanic certification.
5. Clean driving record, no fines, or accidents in the last 3 years.
6. CDL License (Required)
7. Strong organizational and multitasking skills to effectively manage a large fleet of vehicles.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills to address issues related to vehicle maintenance, repairs and programming.
9. Proficiency in the use of fleet management software or systems.
10. Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements for fleet operations.
11. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with drivers.
