Job Description:
The Supportive Housing Specialist provides essential services to individuals with disabilities or disabling conditions who are experiencing housing instability. As part of Roadway’s Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) team, this role focuses on delivering Housing Transition and Housing Sustaining supports to help clients secure and maintain stable, independent housing in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and follow through on person-centered housing plans for clients based on their unique needs and goals.
- Assist with housing searches, applications, and navigating housing systems.
- Offer continued support to clients after move-in to help them sustain housing, resolve landlord issues, and connect to community resources.
- Educate clients on lease agreements, tenant rights and responsibilities, and budgeting basics.
- Coordinate services with landlords, case managers, and other support professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with DHS guidelines and agency standards.
- Deliver services from both the office and designated center locations, with some community engagement as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; further education in human services or related field preferred.
- Experience working with individuals facing homelessness, mental health challenges, or other housing barriers.
- Strong communication, planning, and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with Minnesota Medicaid and Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) is beneficial.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Job Types: Part-time, Internship
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 per week
