Roanoke Valley ENT & Allergy is a privately held practice and is passionate about offering exceptional adult and pediatric ENT care. We offer individualized care with cutting-edge ENT techniques and on-site diagnostic tools, all designed to ensure patients receive excellent patient experience and relief. We are searching for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our growing Allergy Team.
Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant will first learn how to provide immunotherapy treatment (allergy shots) to our patients and then will progress to learn how to skin test and mix treatment sets for patients. This role has a lot to learn, but we have experienced nurses that will provide you with the training and support needed for success! This is a full-time position, M-F with no weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Manage immunotherapy injection schedule
- Initiate immunotherapy injections
- Conduct new patient start education classes
- Update medical records with treatments
- Scan and assign documents into patients' charts
- Triage allergy patient calls
- Conduct allergy skin testing
- Mix treatment sets for patients
We are seeking a professional with:
- Experience with providing allergy or similar injections (MA, LPN, RN degrees will be considered - we are looking for the right person & will invest in training!)
- A patient-focused work ethic
- Leadership and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated, successful organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- The ability to effectively and proactively communicate, both verbally and in writing, in support of appropriately informing patients, staff, and surgeons timely
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with team members, external representatives, distributors, vendors, etc.
- The desire and ability to learn new technology including but not limited to EMR and scheduling software
- The experience and skills to work in a medical office
