Position Description:
Robbinsville Township Council is currently offering a full-time position of Administrative
Assistant/Alternate Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics, working in a busy and fast-paced
Township Clerk’s office. This is a highly confidential position requiring discretion. Ability to work
independently and to take initiative are required.
Applicants must have at least two years of office experience, preferably in municipal
government. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Access and Excel required, in
addition to exceptional customer service skills and a high level of professionalism. Willingness
to attend classes to obtain RMC and CMR Certifications (paid for by the Township) is required.
Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional hours are required for
occasional Council meetings, for all elections and other special circumstances. Long hours on
election day are mandatory. This position requires a person who meets the requirements for the
RMC Certification, including being U.S. Citizen per NJSA 40A:9-133.2 and must live in New
Jersey. An example of job responsibilities is, but not limited to:
- Serving as Alternate Deputy Registration including processing marriage, civil union,
- Issuing Dog Licenses and maintaining animal database.
- Daily Scanning of records into laser system.
- Processing landlord registrations.
- Processing payments and purchase requisitions, daily/monthly financial reports.
- Front desk reception includes waiting on in-person customers, answering phones, and
- Secretarial duties: typing, copying, filing, mail, and supply orders.
- Becoming a notary and providing notary services to the members of the public.
- Elections assistant including voter registrations, vote tallies and petition assistance.
