Description
The Transportation Engineer will be a project lead for both private clients and municipalities. This position has the potential to eventually move from the New Britain Office to another G&A location.
Requirements
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Prepare State regulatory permit applications- Traffic Signal Permitting and Highway Occupancy Permitting
• Prepare and review bid plans and specifications
• Conduct quality control review for plans and reports
• Compose letters, memoranda, reports, applications and studies
• Project coordination with Transportation staff, clients, contractors, attorneys, PennDOT and residents
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering college or university
• EIT. PE license in Pennsylvania or New Jersey is a plus.
• 0-10 years of experience in Transportation, Highway and/or Traffic Engineering field
• Experience in highway design
• Experience in traffic engineering
• Experience in municipal traffic engineering reviews
• Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulatory and permitting requirements
• Previous experience in assisting on working with municipalities, public and/or private sector design projects
• Software experience includes: Microsoft Office, , Synchro, and HCM
• Experience with PennDOT ECMS document uploading and maneuvering within ECMS
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Organized and detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters and complex reports and to orally communicate technical information to others in public presentations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
• Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and candor
• Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions
• General knowledge of traffic engineering and transportation engineering
• Possess experience with Microsoft Suite
• Experience with PennDOT ECMS document uploading/maneuvering and ePermitting and TSAMS process
• Comfortable performing in an environment that requires independent evaluation, judgment and decision making
• Must possess a passion for excellence and a drive for continued development and growth
Position Requirements:
• Occasional regional travel required
• Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard office hours, as required
