Our conveniently located law firm client needs to hire a plaintiff’s personal injury attorney to join their team. Responding candidates must have 3 years of current personal injury litigation experience from intake through settlement for motor vehicle, premises negligence, negligent supervision/security, municipal negligence cases. Candidates that have had some trial experience would be a plus. Responding candidates must be admitted to the New York Bar and be in good standing and should have experience with the following:
• Draft Notice of Claims.
• Draft motion documents including motions, oppositions, and replies.
• Prepare plaintiff and witnesses for depositions.
• Cover plaintiff depositions.
• Handle court appearances for basic preliminary, status and compliance conferences.
• Travel for in person depositions and conferences.
• Subpoena records for discovery.
• Provide clients with case status updates.
• Oral argument of motions before the Court.
• Handle court appearances for pre-trial conferences and settlement conferences.
• Review discovery work prepared by the paralegals.
• Depose defendant at depositions.
• Hold settlement discussions with defense counsel and liability insurance companies.
• Attend Mediations for potential settlement.
• Attend and sit second chair at trial.
• Consult on potential new case calls.
