Accountant

Salary: $26.13 to $30.25 hourly

Description

We are in search of a diligent Accountant to become an integral part of our team in Clearwater, Florida. The primary function of this role will be to handle accounting operations, particularly focusing on auditing accounts, posting journal entries, and leveraging QuickBooks expertise for system optimization. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Accurately manage and maintain general ledger accounts to ensure up-to-date financial records
• Conduct auditing tasks, identifying discrepancies in accounts and rectifying errors
• Post journal entries following established accounting principles
• Generate financial reports, statements, and budgets specifically designed for nonprofit operations
• Support grant management processes, donor reporting, and compliance requirements
• Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks and to optimize the system
• Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
• Assist in the development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as required.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Proficiency in conducting various Accounting Functions is a must
• Familiarity and experience with Auditing processes is required
• Capable of handling Balance Sheet Account tasks effectively
• Prior experience in Non-profit Accounting is highly desirable
• Proficiency in Accrual Accounting methods is necessary
• Proficient user of Quickbooks Premier software
• Ability to prepare and adjust Journal Entries accurately
• Experience with Adjusting Journal Entries is essential
