We are seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our team in the manufacturing industry in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for various accounting functions, using accounting software systems, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks. This position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Use accounting software systems such as Power BI and PeopleSoft to manage and process accounting tasks
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions, ensuring all are processed accurately and on time
- Carry out month-end close activities, ensuring all entries and adjustments are made accurately
- Manage and maintain vendor maintenance records, ensuring all data is up-to-date and accurate
- Perform accounting tasks related to accruals, ensuring all entries are made accurately and in a timely manner
- Process and manage purchase orders, ensuring all orders are tracked and recorded accurately
- Handle collections activities, working to resolve any outstanding issues or discrepancies
- Monitor customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
- Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions is essential
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary
- Familiarity with Power BI software is preferred
- Prior experience with PeopleSoft is desirable
- Ability to perform Month End Close tasks is mandatory
- Understanding of Accrual Accounting principles is crucial
- Experience in managing Purchase Orders is a plus
