Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Salary: $100000.00 to $130000.00 yearly

Description

We are in search of an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our Transport sector team in Norfolk, Virginia. This role will primarily involve directing financial operations and performance, liaising with stakeholders, and driving decisions through reporting. You will also play a key role in enhancing the efficiency of existing operations and defining new operational strategies.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between finance employees, directors, and Senior Leadership Team, providing regular project updates, proposals, and planning.
• In charge of finance-related issues such as collections, accounting, cost and revenue control, and business performance.
• Assist with inquiries, develop action plans, and aid in the preparation and dissemination of communications.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of relationships with all employees to enhance the efficiency of operations.
• Organize, gather, and communicate Agency Finance information to the Senior Leadership Team and Head Office management.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to gather key data and drive projects forward.
• Analyze and improve finance processes and KPIs, initiate improvement initiatives, and manage related training needs for the regional finance team.
• Manage a project management team of two and drive improvement plans through data analytics and reporting.
• Analyze current operational methodologies, propose improvements, identify system errors, and establish quality controls.
• Lead core finance projects aimed at maximizing finance performance and process.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the transport industry
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Knowledge and understanding of Concur software
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Proven experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrated ability to oversee Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Strong auditing skills
• Experience with Billing Functions
• Proficiency in using SAP software
• Knowledge of SAP HANA
