Accounts Payable Specialist

Salary: $21.00 to $23.00 hourly

Description

We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Transport industry, located in MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio, 44130-3429, United States. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be tasked with managing and processing accounts payable, analyzing workflow processes, and maintaining relationships with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable using various accounting software and programs
• Manage accounts payable for distinct entities and vendors
• Scrutinize workflow processes to improve efficiency
• Develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing vendors
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of bills in compliance with departmental procedures
• Process invoices due for payment
• Compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment, and other charges for discrepancies
• Perform account transactions and other accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries, and reconciling books of accounts
• Reconcile vendor statements by identifying errors in posting or omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards
• Handle a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including resolving discrepancies and communicating the resolutions
• Maintain and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports
• Undertake additional duties as required to support the Accounting Department.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in Accounts Payable or a related field
• Proficiency in Account Coding
• Experience with Accounting Software Systems
• Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services is desirable
• Familiarity with Concur software
• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Ability to perform all necessary Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting
• Auditing experience is an advantage
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) systems
• Prior experience in the Transport industry is beneficial, but not necessary
