Billing Follow Up Associate

Salary: $33.25 to $38.50 hourly

Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Billing Follow Up Associate in Folsom, California. The role involves engaging with patients, government agencies, and third party payers, as well as maintaining records and resolving inquiries. It provides a short term contract employment opportunity in the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

• Engage with patients, government agencies, and third party payers to gather, process, and record information to ensure appropriate reimbursement
• Liaise with other departments for charge information, coding updates, and other information necessary for claim appeals
• Conduct billing and collection processes, and prepare for distribution to relevant sources
• Review unpaid claims, gather necessary details to resolve reimbursements and initiate appropriate actions to collect accounts
• Monitor customer accounts, initiate correct actions for past due and denied claims and follow up to assure expected results are achieved
• Calculate write-offs and debit/credit adjustments
• Provide general office support as needed
• Apply developing/basic working knowledge and experience to the job
• Ensure to meet or exceed productivity and quality performance expectations.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Proficient in various billing procedures and quality control measures.
• Understanding of medical coverage policies and related billing practices.
• Familiarity with collection processes and claim administration.
• Ability to manage credit and debit transactions effectively.
• Comprehension of productivity measures in a billing context.
• Knowledge of medical coding practices and adjustments.
• Experience with reimbursement processes and appeals.
• Proficiency in medical billing software and related tools.
• Keen understanding of notices, payer policies, and interactions with government agencies & programs.
• Proficient in using HTTPS and E-Verify systems.
• Experience in managing write-offs in a billing context.
• Understanding of vaccination policies and their impact on billing.
• Familiarity with corporate headquarters' billing procedures and precedents.
