Robert Half is partnered with a leading manufacturing company in the greater Baton Rouge area in search of a Buyer. In this role, you will be supporting the procurement lead and managing the sourcing and procurement of goods and services as well as contract management and negotiations. The position also involves the development of efficient work practices for the effective operation of the procurement and contract management functions. This direct hire opportunity offers a very competitive compensation and benefits package, flexible scheduling and opportunities for career progression.Responsibilities:• Negotiating the acquisition of goods and services for normal operations, projects, and turnarounds at optimum cost, ensuring compliance with company procedures and maintaining quality and delivery standards.• Managing formal tendering processes for the acquisition of equipment and services in line with company procedures.• Establishing commercial tabulation from a tendering process and presenting recommendations for the shortlist/award.• Providing support and information to Vendor Sponsors and Vendor Key Contacts relative to the services contracts.• Administering labor contracts and ensuring all procurement and contractual activities are handled professionally and ethically.• Collaborating with the Warehouse group to implement supply arrangements that minimize inventory levels without impairing availability or quality.• Reviewing and establishing improvement procedures and work practices that streamline the procurement process.• Documenting and communicating vendor’s performance and supporting customers on the appropriate use of contracts.• Providing guidance and support to the Vendor Sponsors and Vendor Key Contacts and managing Contractor Document Awareness.• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of product availability, vendors, and best procurement and contract management practices and systems.• Collaborating with the Procurement Lead in establishing the strategic direction of purchasing and contracting functions.
Salary : $85,000 - $120,000
