Controller

A client of ours is looking for a Controller for a contract role. This role requires a hands-on professional with a strong background in financial reporting, month-end close processes, and leadership in financial management. The Controller will play a critical role in managing financial reports, budgets, compliance, and strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities of Controller

• Lead and manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Monitor cash flow, investments, and financial risk management.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and tax filings.
• Oversee internal controls and safeguard company assets.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop financial strategies and provide insights to support business decisions.
• Manage external audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.

Skills/Qualifications of Controller

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 5 years of accounting/finance experience, with a background in manufacturing highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to lead month-end close and financial reporting processes in a fast-paced environment.
