Robert Half is partnering with one of their non-profit clients on their recruitment efforts to find a part-time, direct hire, Controller. In this role, you will be entrusted with overseeing the financial status and projections of the organization, managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and administering benefits and retirement plans.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the organization's financial status and projections
- Manage the accounting functions and budget processes of the organization
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and applicable regulations
- Administer benefits and retirement plans
- Facilitate the preparation of annual budgets and monitor their performance
- Evaluate and approve invoicing and month-end general ledger entries
- Review financial close processes at the end of each month and year, including reconciliations and financial projections
- Support the preparation of annual independent financial audits and tax returns
- Assist in the preparation of the annual Cost Allocation Plan
- Develop and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk
- Prepare accounting and financial reporting functions for any wholly owned subsidiary of the organization
- Draft contracts and agreements for the organization.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the non-profit sector
- Proven expertise in Auditing, demonstrating a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong proficiency in Budget Processes, with the ability to plan, organize, and manage resources effectively
- Experience in Grant Accounting, ensuring compliance with funding source administrative guidelines
- Skill in Ad Hoc Reporting, with the ability to create and present detailed, data-driven reports
- Demonstrated competence in Cash Management, with a focus on maintaining adequate cash flow for operations
- Thorough understanding of GAAP Accounting principles and their application in a non-profit setting
- Familiarity with Non-profit Accounting, including specific regulations and financial reporting requirements for non-profit organizations
