The successful Cost Accountant candidate will assist in analyzing, managing, and reporting on cost data to help improve financial efficiency and support business decision-making.
Cost Accountant Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of cost reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Support cost allocation processes by identifying, gathering, and reporting on cost data.
- Monitor production costs, labor expenses, and material costs to identify areas of variance and inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and project costs.
- Maintain and reconcile cost accounting systems and ensure data integrity.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closings by preparing journal entries and cost-related reports.
- Support compliance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable laws and regulations related to cost accounting.
- Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing required cost data and documentation.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in accounting preferred
- Proficiency in accounting functions, including general ledger management and month-end close processes.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various teams.
- Commitment to adhering to safety standards and company policies.
