We are offering an interim opportunity for a director of accounting in the healthcare industry. This role involves managing financial activities within the organization, supervising accounting teams, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the month-end closing process and ensuring timely completion.
- Supervising the general ledger (GL) and accounts payable (AP) teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Conducting account reconciliations and adjusting journal entries as necessary.
- Addressing and resolving issues related to the Workday ERP system.
- Assisting with the creation and improvement of SOP documentation and processes.
- Leveraging knowledge of the healthcare industry to inform accounting practices and procedures.
- Utilizing Workday Financial Management software to effectively manage financial activities.
- Providing leadership and guidance to accounting staff to foster team efficiency and productivity.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the accounting or finance department
- Strong experience with Workday Financial Management and Workday software
- Proficient in General Ledger accounting practices
- Prior experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
- Ability to strategize and solve complex financial issues
- Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful accounting system
