Dispatcher

Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 hourly

Description

We are offering a contract for a permanent position as a Dispatcher located in Ridgeland, South Carolina, United States. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation, handling radio communications, dispatching and maintaining accurate records. This role will require expertise in various computer programs and management systems, as well as exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently handle incoming calls, both emergency and non-emergency, providing necessary instructions to callers as needed.
• Monitor and dispatch to incident locations, maintaining constant radio contact.
• Accurately enter and retrieve data from the National Crime Information Center network and state departments of motor vehicles.
• Dispatch wrecker services to relevant incident locations when required.
• Keep track of weather conditions and issue necessary alerts to responders.
• Manage tasks related to driver’s license and license plate requests for officers in the field.
• Verify and provide call and unit history logs to local agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring smooth operation of the dispatch center.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role as a Dispatcher
• Proficiency in Computer Programs
• Familiarity with Management Systems
• Ability to use 'About Time' software effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in dispatching tasks to appropriate personnel
• Ability to answer and handle inbound calls professionally
• Experience with answering multi-line phone systems
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
