We are seeking an Employee Relations Partner for our team located in Minnetonka, Minnesota. This role will guide employees and leaders through various concerns / issues, maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment compliance, recommend HR policy changes when necessary, and support HR functions. This long-term contract role offers exciting opportunities for those proficient in company-wide policies and processes and comfortable working in HR systems.
Responsibilities :
- Guide employees and leaders through performance, conduct, complaint, and other employee concerns / issues
- Stay current on all applicable rules and regulations related to employment compliance
- Recommend HR policy or practice changes as necessary to mitigate risks and / or penalties
- Partner with HRBPs, Total Rewards, and Recruiting to manage communication updates, including updates to policies, processes and necessary training / education to employees and managers
- Provide a variety of support, guidance, and reporting on a range of HR compliance topics to the Human Resources team
- Suggest improvements and revisions to company-wide policies and processes to achieve legal and regulatory compliance
- Monitor HR functions and operations to ensure they are following established policies and processes in compliance with the most current laws and regulations
- Display comprehensive knowledge of employee relations regulations and practices, such as EEO filings, state compliance reports, affirmative action, wage and I-9 audits
- Maintain strong working knowledge of federal employment laws such as the FMLA, ADA, FLSA, as well as knowledge of state and local laws, including those pertaining to paid sick leave and paid family leave, wage and hour compliance
- Display confidence in decision making and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with employees and management
- Proficiency in reporting, ensuring all necessary data is accurately recorded and presented
- Experience in training staff, developing and implementing effective training programs
- Solid understanding of operations within a human resources department
- Knowledge of policies and compliance regulations within the HR field
- Ability to review and update HR policies and procedures as needed
- Proficiency in Human Resources (HR) administration tasks
- Experience in hiring processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding
- Ability to handle complaints professionally and efficiently
- Experience in recruiting, including candidate screening and selection
- Understanding of regulation and law in relation to HR practices
- Ability to manage payroll functions, ensuring all employees receive their wages accurately and on time
- Knowledge of best practices within the HR field
- Ability to use video conferencing tools for meetings and interviews
- Understanding of law regulation in relation to employee relations
- Strong prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Experience in employee relations, including conflict resolution and performance management
- Strong decision-making skills, particularly in relation to HR issues
- Experience in risk mitigation within the HR context
- Understanding of wage regulations and practices
- Familiarity with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other relevant laws
- Experience in ensuring regulatory compliance within the HR department
- Ability to develop, implement, and manage HR policies.
